Contracts Manager - new build residential

My client is a regional main contractor who work on new build residential projects in the Yorkshire region. They are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to work in their new building social housing division. Projects include new build houses and apartments. The Contracts Manager will work as part of a collaborative and integrated team with the Quantity Surveyor and Site Managers to successfully plan, organise, manage and deliver projects from mobilisation to practical completion, with a direct and consistent focus on quality, time and costs targets.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 
• Overseeing all project matters, including quality standards, safety, programme, profitability and coordination of site works 
• Formulating and presenting progress reports (both internally and externally) 

• Liaising directly with the client
• Overall responsibility and accountability for quality and timely completion of the project and snagging 
• Formulating and agreeing main contract programmes, and sub contract time frames 
• Setting the agenda for the construction process and coordination of design/information 
• Controlling contractual correspondence and distribution of information, including recording key information 
• Involvement in the procurement, implementation, management and control and monitoring of sub-contractors 
• Attending, co-ordinating and leading contract review meetings and managing client relationships 
• Responsible for obtaining the PC certificate at completion with zero/minimum defects 
• Be responsible for health and safety of yourself and others all in accordance with the requirements of your Training and Site Induction 

Required Skills and Experience: 
• A proven background in new build housing is essential, with a trades background being an advantage  
• SMSTS and First Aid certification essential 
• Ability to build productive stakeholder relationships 
• Commercially astute with a proven ability to manage costs 
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver quality work on time, within budget 
• Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation 
• Thorough, with strong attention to detail and client facing experience
