My client is a leading Yorkshire housing contractor who are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. With over a century of experience in the property sector and a substantial portfolio of properties in some of the most desirable towns and rural locations in multiple counties through-out the UK. This is achieved by employing people who are committed to maintaining high standards in all areas of the build, ensuring the satisfaction of the clients who they are building for as well as the people who buy their homes and create neighbourhoods. They are looking for a hard-working, self-motivated, conscientious and competent individual who will be responsible for all aspects of the commercial department including the management of Buyers and Quantity Surveyors. Reporting directly to the Managing Director you will be responsible for all aspects of the commercial delivery within the organisation. The successful applicant will have the relevant experience and qualifications described below:

  • Previous experience in Quantity Surveying within residential housebuilding essential
  • Contract negotiation, liaising with developers and supply chain
  • Manage Current Sub Contractors and Source New Sub Contractors
  • Experience working to tight deadlines in a busy environment
  • Obtain prices / quotations
  • Cost-to-complete reporting
  • Produce pre-start budget and detailed cost plans
  • Tender for Road, Sewers and Plot works and present for approval
  • Create sub-contract comparisons for sign off
  • Hold and lead pre-start meetings with sub-contractors
  • Overall Responsibility for Issuing sub-contract orders
  • Overall Responsibility for the Placement of plant and Material orders
  • Support with group drive for efficiency savings
  • Previous experience of Managing groundworks Sub Contractors preferred
  • The ability to manage and mentor a team
